Access to healthcare and fair allocation of health services are the fundamental requirements for achieving the Millenniums development goals. People residing in the remote rural villages suffer from adverse health conditions due to unhygienic living conditions, low awareness and poor access to health services. Under the Grow India initiative, we target to expand the reach of essential preventive health services to remote rural areas.
Our partners in this healthcare initiative have introduced innovative approaches like Mobile Medical Units (MMU) which ensure that improved health services reach the door steps of people residing in under served remote rural areas. This alternative mode of healthcare service delivery, with active community participation, has been implemented in ten remote villages (Kakrala, Bhooda, Begampur, Surajpur, Nagla, Gejha, Aager, Sultanpur, Sahpur and Hazipur) of Noida district of Uttar Pradesh under the first phase.
A well laid down implementation plan and a transparent monitoring and evaluation process has been put in place to ensure achievement of the programs objective. The mobile hospital will move around, covering one village a day, operating 22 days in a month. A cluster approach will be adopted within each village wherein people from neighboring communities can also avail the services. 37000 people are expected to be treated through the mobile hospital every year.
