Barclays Online Money Transfer is a completely Online Money Transfer facility. This facility is currently available for Barclays Bank PLC UK customers for transfers from their Barclays Bank PLC UK accounts to Barclays Bank PLC India savings accounts.

Customer Initiated Payment (CIP) is a fully online mode of sending money from your bank account in the United Kingdom by using your bank's Internet Banking service.

How do I make an online money transfer from the UK?
Making a money transfer through this system is as easy as 1, 2, 3...

1) One time registration on Barclays Online Money Transfer.
Here you need to provide the remitter and beneficiary details for registration. You will choose a user id and password that would be required for your subsequent logins to the site. To register now, (click here)

2) Provide the Money Transfer details.
Fill out the beneficiary account details on Barclays Online Money Transfer site. On completion of this process you will be provided a Unique Transaction Reference Number that you will have to note for the next step.

3) Transfer Money
The final step is to transfer the remittance amount to a designated Nostro account (account number 13097625) maintained with Barclays Bank UK.
You will need to input the unique transaction reference number in the reference section of your internet banking transaction.
That's it. Your money is on its way through a secure channel to the beneficiary account.

Is it necessary for me or my beneficiary to have an account with Barclays Bank ?
Yes. Barclays Online Money Transfer can be used to transfer funds only from a Barclays UK account to a Barclays Bank PLC India savings account.

Are there any transaction fees for using this service?
There are no money transfer charges. A foreign currency conversion charge of INR 110.30 will apply and other taxes or costs may exist that are not paid via Barclays Bank Plc or imposed by us.

How long does it take for the beneficiary to receive money?
The beneficiary account would be credited in 1 working day from receiving the credit in the mentioned Nostro account.

What is the amount that I can send through Barclays Online Money Transfer ?
Using Barclays Online Money Transfer you can send a minimum amount of 250 GBP per transaction.
You can remit up to 3000 GBP in a maximum of 3 transactions per day.
The weekly limit is 15000 GBP in a maximum of 10 transactions per week.

I have done the funds transfer using Barclays UK internet Banking, still the status is shown as Funds awaited on the Barclays Online Money Transfer website??
The status would change on the funds being transferred to the mentioned Nostro account with the correct reference number. Please ensure that the 10 digit reference number has been correctly entered during the funds transfer. You would have received this reference number on providing the money transfer details. If you want to confirm this reference number again please login to the Barclays Online Money Transfer site and view the details in the status tracker option.

If you have provided the correct 10 digit reference number and transferred money using your UK Internet Banking facility to the Nostro account (account number 13097625, sort code 203253 then please wait for the update to be done on the next working day (UK and India)

What is a designated Nostro account?
Nostro is a Barclays India internal account created for the purpose of securely transferring your funds from Barclays UK account to the Barclays India beneficiary's account mentioned by you.

I get the message that my daily limit has been exceeded even though I have not made any transactions today?
Any transactions that you may have carried out earlier and are still in the funds awaited status are included in your daily limit. It will be carried forward the next day.
You are requested to complete such transactions by completing the funds transfer process so that your daily limit blocked on account of such incomplete transaction can be released.

The transactions on the site have been protected by using VeriSign encryption technology.
Further please note that funds do not move out of Barclays Bank Plc at any stage till they are credited to the beneficiary account

What is the Unique Transaction Reference Number?
On completion of a transaction on the Barclays Online Money Transfer Website, you will be provided with a system generated unique 10 digit number. The first 7 digits denote your user id and the last three digits denote the number of transaction.
You will be required to mention this 10 digit number correctly in the narration section of your UK Internet Banking facility while doing the money transfer to our Nostro account. Without this correctly mentioned reference number we will not be able to process the transaction.

How long does it take for the money to get credited to my beneficiary's account?
The money would be credited to your beneficiary's account in 1 working day after successfully receiving the funds in our NOSTRO account along with the transaction reference number.

Kindly note that it would be a Working Day both in Barclays Bank Plc India and Barclays Bank UK.

Can I transfer money to my own account with Barclays India?
Yes.
You can do a money transfer using Barclays Online Money Transfer to your own account with Barclays Bank Plc India.
