The remittance will be delivered to your beneficiary's account or doorstep delivered as a locally payable demand draft in India in Indian Rupees only. |

What is the Remittance Transaction Reference Number or RTRN?

The Remittance Reference Transaction Number or RTRN is the unique number displayed on your screen at the time of booking your remittance. Consider it the root of your transaction.
You get to know the exact status of your transfer by simply clicking on your RTRN on our Online Tracker.
If you are writing an email to us, or if you are chatting with us online about your transfer, you need to quote your RTRN.
If you call our toll-free 1-888-REMIT-TO number to speak with any of our Relationship Managers about your transfer, you need to specify your RTRN.
When you make a Check Option, you have to write your RTRN in the memo area of your Check.
If you are sending a Wire Transfer to the bank via your local bank, you need to fill in your RTRN on the Remittance Confirmation Page, which you will print out after completing a transaction at Remit2India Money Transfers to submit to your bank. |

How are you informed of your transaction status?

Once you book a remittance on Remit2India Money Transfers, we keep you informed on the status of your remittance through regular email updates and reminders. The various status displays and their explanation is as follows:
Money Awaited : This means that the funds had not reached the bank, by check or wire transfer, as per your choice. This shows up when you have not mailed us the check, or if the check is in the mail, or if your wire transfer has not reached us.
Money in Clearing : This means that the bank has received your check or ACH Transfer instruction and it is in the banking channels for clearing.
Money Dispatched : This means that your check or ACH Transfer instruction has been cleared, or your wire transfer funds were realized, and your funds have been dispatched to your beneficiary.
Money Delivered: This means that the Demand Draft has been reached to your beneficiary or the amount has been directly deposited, and you can view the delivery details against your Remittance Reference Number.
Dead Letter: This appears if, one month after booking your remittance with us, the bank has not received your funding check or your wire transfer instruction. This means that if you would still like to send money to your beneficiary, you will need to book it as a new remittance.
Of course, apart from regular email updates from Remit2India Money Transfers, you can keep yourself updated on the status by using "Status Tracker" at Remit2India Money Transfers. All you have to do is click on your RTRN number. |
