Manju Kalmani, a techie engineer from Karnataka thought life could only get better from here. Coming from a poor economic background he was offered a plush techie job in the US. His family bid him goodbye hoping that he would be the harbinger of good fortune. But fate willed otherwise. A car accident on May 1, 2002, injured his spine. A brain stroke and an emergency operation later, he was paralysed neck down.

He was admitted to the hospital where he spent six years, thanks to the funds raised by the Indian community in Atlanta. But his trials were not over.
His visa has now expired and he has been sent back to his motherland to fend for himself. His family denies responsibility claiming inability to cover medical costs.
His survival depends on the mercy of his fellow beings. On you.
Your support will help him get his basic right. His right to live.
